“Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17

The marvel of flying has revolutionized the way wars are fought. Having military aircraft available to engage the enemy or his territory puts distinct advantage in the way of the attacker. Much devotion, time, effort and money is put toward the air divisions within the armed forces because of it.

There is however a flight that shall take place that the Bible speaks of in which no aircraft will be needed. There will be no need for a pilot, resources or air control towers. No flight plan will be accessed, and neither will any license need to be obtained. The flight promised will be when the Lord Jesus returns in the sky just as was promised by the angels as Jesus left this earth.

At that moment, that flashing moment, all who rely upon, trust in and cling to Jesus Christ will meet the Lord in the air, and so shall they ever be with the Lord. It will be the flight of flights, and those who love Jesus' appearing will be ready when it comes. The key is to constantly be ready for takeoff, for when the trumpet of God sounds, it will denote the flight of flights begins.


Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I know that you have promised to return in the same manner in which you left. Help me to be ready to take off in flight at the moment of your trumpet sound. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
